MAC aquadisiac (lid)
sephora flashy liner waterproof in flashy blue

went to a fave shopping haunt today and got these:
mink pink white safar linen dress and jay jay summer polkadot dress from thrift stores - a total of $12!
and then we went to this random make up place and i got a mascara from a really obsecure brand. i love the packaging though, and the mascara tube feels heavy in my hand (which has got nothing to do with how the product will perform, but...). it's made in china, although they're trying to pass it off as a japanese brand. even the english description on the box is really poor. at least it's cheap - only $6!
last but not least, a bangle from diva ...
i received my body butter haul from crater lake company a few weeks ago. i love their body butters so much. they are full of good moisturising stuff and smells so good. i ordered their Duet Body Butter, Flutter Butter, Comforting Creme and my favourite of all, Whipped Soy Butter (so dense and delicious!). actually the Duet Body Butter is fast becoming my favourite too. ah heck, i love them all.
i got them whilst clc was having a sale for their discontinued scents, so i got:
british royal tea - totally my comfort scent, yum!
white lotus and peach tea
violet creme puffs
tahi-tea - very fruity tea! so tropical
gilded lily - an understated floral
princess vagnilia - delicious concoction of vanilla goodness
i highly recommend them, sharonn, the owner is the sweetest lady. she included a handwritten birthday card for me and free samples including their perfumes and a small bottle of 2in1 shampoo.
the only thing i missed is the little pink ribbon that sharonn used to tie around these tubs. these ribbons add such a sweet girly stuff...
go buy!
my besame haul is finally here!
i'm not sure what happened, i called them on 14 apr to check on the status of the shipment since i didn't get tracking notice at all! plus, they didn't respond to my email so i had to call 'em up. not too impressed with their customer service.
but nevertheless, i was informed that my order was shipped on 12 apr, but i got it today! so weird how it arrived so fast, right? but i think it was intercepted by customs coz the wrapping looked a bit dodgy when it got to me.
depite all that, everything IS truly gorgeous.. and TINY! i haven't tried any of them except my Red Velvet Enchanting Lipstick. I took some pics of me
wearing it in 2 different lightings...
i also ordered my most favouritest perfume online since i can't find it in shops here or even duty free shops in asia! it's been discontinued so i need to stock up. now i got 4 of these babies, which should set me back about 4 years or so.. haha..

i received 2 samples of Hanskins Glossy Magic BB Whitening when i purchased my Skinfood stuff a month ago.
colour: this bb cream contains pearl particles, which really brightens up your complexion but not in a super-bling kinda way. it's really subtle and imparts a dewy glow to your skin. the colour itself is medium yellow toned and matches pretty well to my NC30. actually the colour is better than Skinfood Shade #1 and #2.
texture: slightly - juuuust slightly thicker than Skinfood and it takes a teeny bit while longer to sink in to your skin.
coverage: pretty good - a teeny bit more than tinted moisturiser. the pearl stuff really helps in camouflaging imperfections by deflecting light (or something like that..)
scent: there is no scent, which is good for those sensitive to fragrances. but i am starting to like my sweet-scented skinfood stuff. darnnnn...sweet scented products!!
performance: i have only worn this for a few days so could not comment on the whitening power. oil-control was not so great though, i needed to blot once-twice a day. these days, i tap a tiny dot underneath my eyes to hide circles and appear bright-eyed when i'm really not.
i read about Besame's discounts at lilita's and Blogdorf Goodman's blogs - and of course i caved.
i have been wanting to order their products for sometime now, but they were pretty expensive (not to mention the shipping costs too!). so this is a good excuse for me to purchase me some pretty make up! don't they look just gorgeous? i hope they get to mama safely...
Cashmere Powder Compact
Boudoir Rouge in Crimson
Enchanting Lipstick in Red Velvet

Gosh, this product has a super long name. And I don't get why they would call it Beblesh... what a weird name. But anyway, asian products have weird names usually, so why should this be any different? LOL..
I only have a mini size for this, as per picture, I love the hot pink mini tube, perfect for travelling.
Colour: closest match to my skintone - MAC NC30. No heavy pink undertones like SF Mushroom and not too light like SF Aloe.
Scent: very very faint scent - almost none. It's a shame because I'm beginning to get used to SF's scents. Although this is good for those allergic to fragrance.
Texture: somewhat thicker than SF's bb creams, and blending takes a wee bit more work. but payoff is that the colour matches better to skinton.
Wear: it is now 3pm and I applied this at 6AM - today I wore it under Rimmell's primer and my skin shows minimal shine.
All in all, I feel this is a bit better in oil control. It evens out my skintone as per the other bb creams. Long term effects/benefits yet to be seen. I've only worn this twice so far.
i love Elke Von Freudenberg's blog, where she summarised the Fall '08 beauty trends from the runway, some of which i'd love to pick up and learn.
these includes:
- soft wavy hair
- contouring - blush on the apples is out.
- lined eyes and smokey eyes with bronze
- rust stained lips at carolina herrera
i have now started to wear this over my sunscreen - Neutrogena because my skin just needed that extra moisture right now. the trade-off is it imparts a more dewey look.
today i noticed 2+ bumps around my eyebrows. kinda painful actually, these bumps.
but it may be contributed to my poor diet as of late (aka a bag of chips fo dinner, does not a balanced diet make).
Shade #2 (Natural) is definitely too pink-toned and light for my skintone. good thing it eventually blends well - and evened out my skintone. the first few moments post-application still looks kinda off.
since bb cream has generated a lot of raves and sensation for improving skin condition, i am going to (try and) record any changes in my skin whilst using the skinfood bb creams i just purchased. i am going to use each over a period of 10 days, whilst keeping my routines the same.
the first to be trialled is Skinfood Mushroom Multi-care BB Cream SPF 20 PA+ (Shade: Natural #2). gosh.. can one product name get any longer???
since this product has SPF in it, i applied this in place of my sunscreen to clean face. depending on the weather, i applied some loose powder on top and then proceed to apply make up as per usual. today I thought was going to be sunny, so i added a layer of Ninna Ricci powder on top, but on colder/dryer days, i might forgo the powder lest I have chalky face.
day 1:
i applied the product after i cleansed my face in the morning. the texture is somewhat liquidy - not thick as I would've thought. there is fragrance, which i heard some described as a distinct 'mushroom' scent. well, i've never actually smelled mushroom before but thought this scent is quite pleasant, although stronger than most of my skincare products used.
i dotted the product on my forehead, nose, both cheeks and chin - and then use my fingers to blend all over. the cream blended effortlessly and sunk into my skin leaving a matt finish. although this shade - Natural #2 has a slightly pinkish cast to it, the colour blended well into my skin, however it left a whitish cast - perhaps because of the SPF. but it does made my skin appear brighter/fresher. freaky actually, to appear that bushy tailed in the morning.
by mid-day there is a slliiiiiiiiiiiiight shine to my skin - but less so than if I were to use my normal sunscreen. by the end of the day, I looked pretty much the same as every other day. no significant changes seen. will update again after 3 to 5 days.
for reference, the low-down on my skin:
colour: medium asian tan with yellow/golden skintone. probably about NC30-35.
type: combination. i have dry patches on my nose during winter, but gets oily t-zones. my skin is not sensitive.
blemishes: my skin is not prone to breakouts of acnes, white/blackheads (thank you God!). but i do experience the occasional bumps here and there and there are slight redness around my nose and cheeks, most likely broken capillaries.
